Iendelle, Veit, Perenvel, Kep, Skippy, and Nola escort Dengleworth Birchswitch II back through the forest and finally reach the edge of the forest. Nola stops at turns to the group. “My friends, I must now return to the forest to watch over the creatures and the tall twisting pines. Godspeed to you all and I hope things calm down a bit. I hope you all find some clothes and a warm meal. May Sheela Peryroyal watch over you.” With that Nola transforms with a flash of light into a small raven which takes to the sky and flaps its wings heading into the forest.

Kep says “Well, let’s head straight away to the Mayor’s house to turn Dengleworth in for his crimes committed against the peaceful village of Crimel… and get some clothing. Not that I don’t like being bathed in Iendelle’s beauty (he winks), but I’m sure we all would welcome some dignity at this point… and a warm bath and meal.”

The group agrees and heads to the front door of the mayor’s house. A few locals stop and stare in confusion at the group who is slightly wounded, burned, and covered in mud wearing only their loincloths! Kep waves them away “No time to explain, we’re here to speak with the mayor and that is all you need to know!” Perenvel Ielp knocks on the mayors door. A few moments later the door creaks open and Mayor Silvo Carver stands, mouth gaping in awe. “Wha… wha.. what happened?” Kep steps forward “There is much to tell, but rather than stand outside in our long johns, do you mind if we come in and find something to wear?” “By all means, yes… come in, come in!” The mayor motions everyone inside. The group walks into the downstairs foyer of the mayors house and Perenvel closes the front door. The mayor looks at Skippy with awe. “Iendelle, what manner of creature is this?” “What manner of creature are you?” Skippy snaps back which causes the Mayor to jump back in surprise. “I am Skippy Skelopotamus, expert Acrobat and performer. I am a Beguiler and you are a halfling. Don’t look so surprised! We live in a world filled with all manner of fantastic creature and magicks galore! I am but one little part of a vast and expansive world which we call Toril!” Skippy smiles and leaps upon Iendelle’s head. “A pleasure to meet you mayor!” Skippy says at the speed of light. The mayor bursts out laughing and shakes Skippy’s tiny paw. “A pleasure to meet you as well Skippy, welcome to my home and the quaint, peaceful village of Crimel!”

The bottom floor of the mayor’s house is quite open and he welcomes you all inside. He fetches blankets and robes for everyone and starts a fire. “Warm up by the fire and I will ask the cook to prepare some soup for everyone.” The mayor walks off to find the cook. In the meantime Dengleworth begins to poke about. The downstairs is decorated with lavish imported rugs upon which sits fine vintage plush furniture. A large rug lays directly in front of the giant fireplace which the group begins to gather in front of. A large grandfather clock begins to ding signaling that it is 3pm. Clocks are very rare in the realms and not only a luxury, but an expensive addition to only the homes of the very well to do. Although the position of mayor pays nothing, Mayor Silvo Carver must have made a substantial amount of money working in Beluir before he came here. He never speaks of his former job though and prefers to keep to himself on personal matters. Various tables are covered in trinkets of all shapes and sizes. Jewelry, carvings, and other decorations are strewn about all surfaces. Dengleworth walks about eying various trinkets and picking one up occasionally. He picked up an interesting looking old silver necklace with jade inlays. “Hmmm…. this could be magical.” he says aloud and quickly sets it down and looks at the group sheepishly.

The mayor returns to bowls of hot soup for everyone and passes them out. After a few bites Kep recounts the entire journey through the forest, the capture of the group at his own hands (due to the charm spell) and their journey through the Lacuna Cauldron into the alternate reality. The mayor is quite skeptical, but after Dengleworth explains his entire history and the magical nature of the artifacts known as Lacuna Cauldrons he seems to accept the story as truth.

The mayor turns to address Dengleworth. “So, where this leaves us is with the sentencing of one Dengleworth Birchswitch the 2nd. Dengleworth, you have committed horrible crimes against the people of Crimel and slain an individual who did you no harm and kept to himself. What do you have to say for yourself?”

“I am guilty as charged, but I would like to say one thing- the gaseous potion I crafted was crudely made. I intended Zanderfell Chickenglibbers only to fall asleep so that I could “borrow” his spellbook and copy it’s contents. I was planning on returning it after I settled things with my former mentor, but things went wrong and Zanderfell was killed. The dose was too strong… I had never used the Mektakle Flower for a sleeping potion and reduced the solvent too much… it should have been used for three doses… I should have tested it.. but on what?... sorry I’m rambling. I am at your mercy Mayor.”

“Dengeworth, we are a kind and caring people. We would never harm or kill another as punishment. The punishment must fit the crime though. You will be charged with repairing Zanderfell Chickenglibber’s home, shed, and property and restoring it to brand new condition. The woodsmen will provide you with the wood and tools needed for this project. When this is completed you will stay in Crimel for a period of 1 year to craft beneficial potions which our priest of Yondalla will use his magic to test for purity. We use these potions when needed and sell them to travelers and use the money to benefit the village and provide extra funding for tough times. Once you have performed your sentence you will be welcomed into the village as one of us or set free to do as you will. We ask that you treat others with the same respect that you would be treated. Dengleworth Birchswitch, this is your sentence and your duty.”

Mayor Silvo Carver sits down on a couch and turns to the group. “To you, adventurers who have assisted the village of Crimel- your debts to Pand Roundnose are hereby lifted! Since you lost most of your possessions on your journey I will extend a tab at Pand’s Portly Provisions in the amount of 25 gold pieces for each of you to gather clothing and supplies. In addition to that I have three gifts to give to you. I will return shortly. The mayor gets up to go upstairs.

SEND YOUR POSTS TO MY EMAIL AND WE’LL GO FROM THERE! REMEMBER, YOU CAN POST WHAT YOU WANT TO DO AND SAY FOR THE NEXT FEW “MOVES”. JUST WRITE IT IN A FORMAT THAT I CAN EASILY ADD TO THIS STORY. I CAN’T WAIT UNTIL WE PLAY AGAIN IN REAL LIFE!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
